Find the Right Watch Strap Size
Choosing the correct watch strap starts with getting the right fit. If your watch is included in our Strap Finder, you can search by brand and model to find its strap width and compatible options. You can also determine fit manually using width, length and taper.

Open Strap FinderStrap Width
Strap width must match your watch’s lug width exactly. If the width is wrong, the strap will not fit.
Find My Strap WidthStrap Length
Strap length affects comfort, buckle position and how much strap tail remains after fastening.
- Based on wrist circumference
- Many straps are offered in Short, Regular or Long options
- Two-piece strap lengths are commonly shown as long side / short side in millimeters
Strap Taper
Taper is the change in width from the lugs to the buckle. It affects appearance and determines the buckle-end width of the strap.
- Written as lug width / buckle width
- More taper creates a slimmer appearance
- Less taper creates a more substantial appearance
- Reusing a buckle or deployant clasp? Confirm its width before ordering.

Where to Start
If you know your watch brand and model, start with Strap Finder. If your watch isn't listed, start with width. Once you've confirmed the correct width, choose the appropriate length for your wrist. Then check taper, especially if you plan to reuse an existing buckle or deployant clasp.
If you already know which measurement you need, jump directly to the relevant guide above.
What About Watch Compatibility?
Lug width tells you whether a standard strap is the correct width, but some watches and bracelets have additional fit requirements. Curved cases, fixed lugs, oversized spring bars and watch-specific bracelet end links may require extra attention.
For those questions, see our Watch Strap & Bracelet Compatibility Guide.
Brand-specific sizing guides
Some brands use slightly different length conventions or construction details. If you're shopping a specific brand, these guides cover the differences.
