Why Holben’s
Holben’s exists for people who care about how a watch fits, wears, and holds up over time. We select products from manufacturers we trust based on materials, construction, compatibility, and long-term use. We do not sell generic private-label straps, trend-driven designs, or factory goods with no provenance.
Our Story
Mike’s interest in watches began in 1976 with a Tony the Tiger wristwatch that he still owns today. From there, his collection grew to include digital calculator watches, early Swatches, and eventually vintage mechanical pieces, including a 1920s Elgin Tank-style watch.
While working in architectural preservation, Mike also began restoring watches and deepened his understanding of horological history, construction, and materials. That interest eventually grew into an independent watch business, and Mike founded Holben’s in 1998. Over the years, Holben’s has sold more than 20,000 wristwatches to customers worldwide.
In 2007, Holben’s expanded into watch accessories. Over time, straps and bracelets became the primary focus of the business. Since then, we have sold hundreds of thousands of watch straps, buckles and tools.
Holben’s is based on an island in the Pacific Northwest. We handle orders ourselves and work directly with customers before and after a purchase.

We are an authorized retailer for every brand we sell. Our inventory is held at our U.S. location rather than fulfilled by manufacturers or third-party dropshippers. We work with established manufacturers whose products meet our standards for materials, construction, and consistency. Our brands include Artem, Bonetto Cinturini, ColaReb, Di-Modell, Erika’s Originals, EULIT, Fluco, Forstner, Hadley-Roma, Haveston, Hirsch, ISOfrane, Molequin, RIOS1931, Staib, and TROPIC®.
