Our Story

For Mike, the owner of Holben's, it all began with a Tony the Tiger watch. To a nine-year-old in 1976 it was the coolest gift ever, sparking a love of wristwatches that flourished with time. Over the years he continued collecting, acquiring a variety of styles from digital calculator watches and early Swatches to a 1920s Elgin Tank-style model.

While working in the field of architectural preservation, Mike honed his watch restoration skills and deepened his understanding of horological history and technology. Eventually his hobby evolved into a thriving business; since its founding in 1998 Holben's has sold more than 20,000 wristwatches to clients worldwide.

In 2007 the company expanded to include watch-related accessories for men and women. Hundreds of thousands of watch straps and buckles later, we’re known in the watch community as a trusted source for outfitting watches, from vintage models to modern designs.

Holben's is located on an island in the Pacific Northwest, where we enjoy a small-town lifestyle, strong community and occasional orca sightings from the ferry. As a family-owned business we personally tend to your order through every step, including answering questions, packing with care, shipping (often same-day), and managing returns or exchanges if necessary.
