No doubt about it, I'm a big fan of mesh bracelets!
I was looking for a bracelet with great value and high quality, and Staib was the answer!
Looks reallyyy nice on my IWC!
I was initially hesitant about getting the narrower band (1-1/4" or 3.175cm) as the watch case is on the large side (43mm or ~1.7"), but I preferred the look of the matching black stitching. I'm happy to say that it looks great and the size difference isn't even noticeable (by which I mean "conspicuous"). The stock spring bars are for 23mm, which made the 22mm pieces a bit too small (a bit more play/slide than I liked), and the 24mm pieces a bit snug, but the 24mm bits work and I have no complaints. Good purchase!
Having owned a Damasko with a Di-Modell strap previously, I was familiar with the brand. I was looking for new straps for my Tudor S&G GMT and my Doxa 300 CC edition. The straps are amazing quality and the most comfortable I’ve ever owned. They are also waterproof to 100m so I don’t have to worry much about where or how I use them. Unfortunately, I noticed upon putting one of the straps on, that the buckle was a bit damaged warped (still works fine and I’m not sure what happened) but replacing it is a very low cost fix. I like the straps so much, that I ordered a third (Di-Modell Rallye) for my Omega Seamaster. Can’t wait to put it on!
Really love this thing, except for two small things: It uses smaller spring bars and actually had one side pop off while doing pushing my kid on his sled, kind of weird, and then for some reason is doesn’t lay quite as flat as I’d like at the buckle. Using on a Mido Ocean Star, and it’s a pretty nice match. I got it as a cheaper alternative to an Isofrane, but still want to try the Isofrane to compare. For the price, it’s perfect.
Havana looks very nice in person! Depending on the light, has very dark/blackish tones or earthy dark brown. Looks good on this Jack Mason Espresso Strat-o-timer. Very comfortable strap and always fast shipping.
I waffled back and forth before finally deciding to pull the trigger on this strap.
I highly recommend ISOfrane and I highly recommend Holben’s!
When you’re done messin’ around buying strap after strap looking for the right one…come back here and just get the ISOfrane dive strap.
It’s thick, soft, supple, grippy and crazy comfortable.
Another great looking Fluco leather strap for my Brequet Type XX chronograph that has nonstandard 21mm lug width (please more choices for 21mm size!). It is slimer than my other Fluco leather straps, very soft and feels extremely comfortable on the wrist. Rich chocolate color, terrific elegant look. Long-term longevity of the strap remains to be seen. I wish the strap had quick release bars and contrasting stitching. 5 stars, thank you Holben’s and Fluco!
The strap was perfect my Seiko TicTac, producing vintage alpinist vibes (what I was hoping for). Fits my 7 1/4 inch wrist well. Very happy and great value for the price.
Sahara in person looks incredible. Best and most comfortable strap. Fast shipping!
Two tone on my Jack Mason Strat in Espresso.
“Redstone” rubberized printed text began to wear off after several wears.
Strap hardware, fabric, and stitching otherwise are exceptional, especially for the price.
The Forstner Ladder Bracelet stands out with its vintage design and high-quality stainless steel construction, offering a sturdy yet fluid, timeless choice for everyday wear.
The bracelet's breathable ladder (or hollow oyster) design makes it ideal for regular use, especially in warmer climates or summertime. Its aesthetic complements my Glycine Combat Sub, providing a less flashy alternative to the original two-tone bracelet with the PVD gold-finished polished centre links. I recommend it for tool watches with compact lug-to-lug dimensions and medium case thicknesses as exemplified with my watch.
The Forstner Ladder Bracelet excels in fit and comfort. Its adjustable nature, facilitated by eight micro-adjustments, allows for precise sizing, ensuring a custom fit that adapts seamlessly to the wrist.
If it is of any help to the reader, after various adjustments during my first week of wear, the optimal way to size the bracelet is by removing links until the best fit possible before engaging the micro-adjustment in the clasp. Then, add a link and employ the micro-adjustments until a perfect fit. By doing so, you will have the micro-adjustment in the clasp set somewhere in the middle, allowing for easy adjustments in the future. You can even adjust on the go if you carry a tiny tool!
While the bracelet scores high on many fronts, it falls short in the finishing department. The prestige and history of the Forstner brand set high expectations, yet the finishing on the bracelet, with its less precise and coarser brush strokes compared to the very fine and parallel lines on my Glycine watch, leaves room for improvement. This aspect might be a consideration for those who value meticulous craftsmanship. I have attached a picture for the reader to judge for themselves. I do not own a macro lens, but even so, the difference in the finishing is still noticeable.
Overall, the Forstner Ladder Bracelet is a commendable choice for tool watch owners looking for a practical, less ornate, yet aesthetically pleasing alternative for daily wear. However, potential buyers should note the finishing discrepancies when considering this bracelet, especially if they are particular about such details.
Excellent service! Fast shipping. Very well-made, high quality, and classy. Comes with all spring-loaded band rods.
I've tried numerous rubber and hybrid straps over the years -- most of them much more expensive than this one. This one is really comfortable because the rubber is soft, and the punched holes allow for lots of ventilation -- in addition to a precise fit. Setting it aside for summer.
These straps are great. I think I have five or six of them, which probably is too many. Just added moss green to my collection. The only thing I would note is that the black one is so luxurious that it probably should be paired with a high-polish case instead of the brushed case of my watch. But obviously, that's a matter of taste.
Perfect, beautiful and comfortable strap for my diver’s watch. Highly recommend it. Thank you to Holbens staff for their guidance and assurance, great service.
Holben's has been friendly and efficient over many orders, now. Very appreciated. As to the strap: the Fluco Record is my go-to classic mens strap, now. It's affordable, the leather is soft and strong, nicely grained, and superbly comfortable from the first wearing. I have a number of them , now, and the two photos are the most recent. Thank you, Holben's.
This is my third watch band purchased. Still have and using the first one purchased several years ago. Material and clasp are in excellent shape.
The strap is a bit lighter than I thought it would be, but looks so good. It’s a very light grey. If you’re looking for a darker grey, go with the Mirage. The 2 tone is so subtle and looks really great! The most comfortable straps and fast shipping!
This is my second or third purchase from Holben’s and I’m very happy. This pigskin band is so supple and comfortable and the brown color is really nice. It looks great on my 1948 Bulova. It adds a classic look like the watch came that way. I’ve tried other bands and they just don’t compare.
Arguably the best color option for the Tudor Ranger. Looks great, feels great!
The most comfortable watch band you will ever wear! Infinitely adjustable and looks amazing! Pricey, but absolutely worth it. Fast shipping, and great customer service, as well!
The band is great quality and looks great. Be careful, it runs really small. Barely fits me.
The band is extremely comfortable and well made. This will be the new “go to” strap for my vintage chronograph. Highly recommended.
I wanted a delicate Milanese mesh band for my classic Frederique Constant Tourbillion which requires a totally different type of band than a sports/diver watch like Rolex or Tudor. FC does not supply any aside from the original blue leather band, so the Staib 2792 looked workable. Once attached, it actually looks quite good and does not distract from the watch itself.
I purchased this Bonetto Cinturini Rubber Strap to pair with a new skeletonized CIGA Design Mechanical Watch Series Z Edge that I bought. The carbon fiber aesthetic of the strap pairs perfectly with the hyper modern/futuristic look of the watch. I particularly like the steel deployant that comes with the strap since it matches the look of the watch. The one thing that I found strange is the vanilla scent of the strap. I guess it's better than a strong chemical smell. Otherwise, great strap
