Headquartered in Klagenfurt, Austria, Hirsch was established in 1765 as a leather workshop and tannery. It remains a family-owned business to this day, and continues to gain recognition for excellence and innovation in watch strap design.
The ultimate in Italian artisan leather craftsmanship, the Hirsch Lucca is made from traditional full grain, vegetable-tanned, vat-dyed Tuscan calfskin that has been hand-finished for a patinated effect. Hirsch's proprietary OysterGlove Supersoft leather lining is supple and soft against the skin. Lucca is a cinch to clean: simply rinse under lukewarm running water, then dry with a cotton cloth.
All of our Hirsch straps are integrated with handy quick-release spring bars. Prefer standard spring bars? Quick-release bars are easy to remove: simply slide the lever as far as you can to the left, then gently bend back the strap corner until the bar emerges from the slot.
If you're looking at the Lucca golden brown strap, get it. The color doesn't fade at the flex points and instead of cracking or scuffing, it just glides through the buckle like there's a roller on it. I've never had a strap even close to this this handsome or rugged. I keep babying it when removing it, but each time it just gets softer without cracking. I'll probably get the darker one next.
I purchased this Lucca strap after receiving my Hamilton Navy Pioneer as a birthday gift from my fiancée. Even though the watch did come on a leather strap, I wanted one that would make it even more special. The strap complements the watch quite well. The richness of the color and the suppleness of the leather matches the details of the watch.
I will also wear it on a couple of other watches in my collection as the strap is quick release, but it’s primarily for the Hammy.
I enjoyed my "Lucca" watchband so much I ordered a second one in "Golden Brown"
