ColaReb Bologna Sheepskin Leather Watch Strap - Tan
Vegetable-tanned sheepskin leather with soft, flexible feel.
Made in Italy, the ColaReb Bologna has a worn-in leather surface with lighter tones and darker edges that show natural variation across the strap. The finish avoids the uniform look of smoother leather, giving it a more casual feel on the wrist. The low profile keeps it close to the case, which works well on field watches, vintage reissues, and simple everyday pieces where a more polished strap would feel out of place.
Material & feel
The strap is made from genuine sheepskin leather that has been vegetable tanned, which gives it a softer and more pliable feel than typical calfskin. The leather develops subtle shifts in tone and grain across the surface. It is lightly padded, allowing it to bend easily without stiffness. The underside is lined with calfskin leather that is breathable and hypoallergenic for direct skin contact. Stitching is tonal and set close to the edge with a consistent, slightly recessed finish.

The strap leather, stitching, and buckle look of high quality. Even the thickness is ample and it feels very comfortable on the wrist. I paired it with my moon phase Timex and I am very happy with it.
I purchased this watch for my Seiko SRPJ15. The subtle black accents against the grey strap look great, and I imagine would look good on any black dial watch. It is very comfortable, the standard quick release is easy to use and seems anchored well, and the clasp feels sturdy. I have a 6.5” wrist, and only the tightest option is viable for me, so if you have a similar sized wrist maybe go with the short option. The only drawback is that the strap is ever so slightly too wide (I purchased the 20mm size) by maybe a quarter of a millimeter so it takes some effort to attach to the watch, but that could just as easily be a failure on Seiko’s side for the dimensions. All in all, very happy with this strap and would purchase again from this brand.
Love the strap, especially for the money. I was pleasantly surprised by the cutout on the back allowing install/removal without a tool! Where has this feature been all my life.
Love it on my vintage Omega Constellation. My shirt is navy blue and pants are black for color reference. The stock photos were quite representative and the quality is excellent.
It is definitely a little different than the photos, but in a good way. Mine has much more of a matte appearance and a deep, dark navy color most of the time. Nice touch of visible pattern/texture to the leather. Leather itself is soft to the touch but the band has a little stiffness from the padding material. The leather does feel a little fragile, like it is a thin skin and might scratch easily. The keepers feel solid. And actually the keepers are so solid and the leather so soft that I put an abrasion in the strap just pulling it through the keepers. Overall I think this is a nice looking strap for the money and the blue is right on the money (hard to nail color at this price point). Hard to photograph the color, but I think the 2nd photo that shows the watch from the side is most accurate.
I was looking for a smooth calf or pig skin leather to dress down a formal looking watch to give it a more every day wearable look. Honestly I was tired of shiny gators and crocs and definitely tired of the Hermès style Saffiano you're starting to see on EVERY watch out there on the interwebs.
The Colareb Bologna in "brown" looked quite attractive to me since it was a smooth but unusually textured sheepskin leather that came in a good spread of colors. The brown in this case was not really a traditional brown (chocolate-y) but rather a taupe-ish brown that really sits nicely against rose gold. I didn't want TOO much of a tannish brown that would just melt in with rose gold, making things monochromatic.
What really hooked me though were the dimensions: a nice taper from lug to buckle that paired well with dress watches without overpowering the focus of the watch case. I find the taper of the 20-16 is perfect for a smaller cased watch such as 36mm-40mm and the OEM strap was almost too much (20-14). But the slam dunk was Colareb's lengths: 120-75. For me, that is THE SWEET spot! I've always found traditional 115-75 just a wee bit too short and 120-80 too long. My perfect strap lengths in a perfect world would be 120-75 or 115-80. And what do you know? Colareb offers the former! YIPPEE!!
For the price you pay for a Colareb, you're getting excellent workmanship, consistent stitching, and a product that exudes quality without gouging you in the wallet. I have surfed many, MANY strap vendors and inevitably I ALWAYS come back to Holben. The selection, prices and fast shipping are all tops. I'm a strap junkie and he's my go-to dealer.
I was hoping it would be darker like the picture on the website but it’s more of a regular grey. It’s a nice strap and still works for my watch so I am keeping it. Holbens should probably update their listing picture.
Thank you for pointing this out. The Bologna is made from vegetable-tanned sheepskin, which can show variation in tone and grain and often reads as a softer mid-grey rather than a darker shade. We're glad to hear it still worked out for your watch.
The strap is excellent quality and comfort. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Holbens has been my go to website for quality straps. They carry the best. No need to be jumping around websites. The quick release option is wonderful for my watch.
The blue leather is dark blue, which soft appearance to the leather, a look of extreme quality.
Nice leather color and finish. I put a layer of leather treatment on that darkened the color a touch and made the texture more visible, which I liked. Hole spacing ok. tongue could be slightly longer but ok. I saved the information so I can buy my next one from you
Fantastic strap. Beautiful color. Strap is very soft and very comfortable wears from day one
Have to say that these leather bands are really comfortable. First time purchasing this variety but I've long been a lover of ColaReb's offerings. Their products are top-tier and very long lasting, albeit a bit expensive for what they are. I wish their was an option to select either brushed or polished hardware and to choose non-quick release, especially since I would consider these straps to be more premium priced then other similar offerings. My other issue with these leather straps is that they are a bit awkward in length for my 6.75" wrist. The pro is that they are soft and supple right out of the box and break-in time is minimal.
Love the color, pretty close to the photo, a nice muted grayish brown, not too red. The feel is very soft to the touch and comfortable to wear. I didn't realize it could be attached without using the tools, which was a pleasant surprise!
Purchased this strap to pair with my Hamilton khaki aviation pilot pioneer. Fantastic strap. Very soft and smooth right our the gate. Very little break in time and I love the unique texture as well. Really elevates the watch from all the other tan leather bands you see out there! Holbens is the only place to go for watch bands!
This strap has a unique blue color. It's a great pattern and will match well to many dials including my Nomos Midnight blue. I didnt wear it everyday since it was long for my wrist but I didnt return it since I enjoyed color and is very comfortable.
ColaReb is making some of the nicest straps one can purchase at any price. That this one is so beautiful and affordable make it an unbeatable combo. I get many compliments on this strap!
The quality of this strap is undeniable. The sheepskin leather has a great texture and satin finish. I paired it with a Longines 1832 and it looks/wears great IMO. As always the service from Holbens was excellent
Excellent leather strap. Unfortunately on my strap it is labeled as 20mm...it actually measures 21mm...!?! Looks like someone dropped the ball on quality control.
Thank you for the review. We're glad to hear the leather itself met expectations. There can be slight variation around the 20mm width, but a full millimeter over would be outside that tolerance. We will keep a close eye on that going forward.
