RIOS1931 Typhoon Buffalo Leather Watch Strap - Mocha
Handmade in Germany using traditional leather construction.
The RIOS1931 Typhoon is made from thick buffalo leather with a visibly broken grain, heavy contrast stitching and the broad flared shape long associated with vintage pilot and military straps. Wide squared-off ends and a matte finish give the strap a rugged tool-watch character that suits larger chronographs, Fliegers and older sport-watch designs.
Material & feel
The Typhoon strap is handmade in Germany from genuine buffalo leather. Handmade saddler’s seams are used throughout. Compared to thicker buffalo straps, the Typhoon uses a more forgiving cut of leather that remains supple while still offering enough structure for daily wear. The strap is hypoallergenic, making it suitable for wearers with sensitive skin.

Wear & care
Splash only, avoid soaking and prolonged water exposure.
Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use leather cleaners or conditioners. Avoid prolonged moisture and direct sunlight. If damp, dry with a soft cloth and allow to air dry fully.

RIOS1931 was founded in Augsburg in 1931 by master craftsman Riemer Oswald. Now in its third generation of family ownership, the company is one of Germany’s most established makers of leather watch straps and accessories.
RIOS1931 continues to operate with a workshop-based approach, emphasizing traditional construction methods, hand-finishing, and controlled production rather than mass manufacture. The focus remains on durability, consistency, and long-term wear rather than trend-driven design.
