Headquartered in Klagenfurt, Austria, Hirsch was established in 1765 as a leather workshop and tannery. It remains a family-owned business to this day, and continues to gain recognition for excellence and innovation in watch strap design.
With medium-to-heavy padding and sporty white contrast stitching, Hirsch's robust Modena strap is made from full grain Italian calfskin leather. The realistic alligator-grain embossing has a semi-matte finish. Hirsch's Softglove lining leather is hypoallergenic and gentle on the skin. The Modena is a cinch to clean: simply rinse under lukewarm running water, then dry with a cotton cloth.
All of our Hirsch straps are integrated with handy quick-release spring bars. Prefer standard spring bars? Quick-release bars are easy to remove: simply slide the lever as far as you can to the left, then gently bend back the strap corner until the bar emerges from the slot.
I specifically bought this strap to pair to my Hamilton Khaki Navy Pioneer. I think the blue strap really sets off the blue hands of the watch. It has both a formal yet casual look that will make the paring very versatile. Its well worth the investment and this strap will have a permanent home on this watch.
Navy blue appears darker indoors, but I can still feel it different from black. When going outside with day light, definitely bluish. Nice and comfortable leather strap on hand. Recommended and will consider another order for sure.
I bought the strap in order to wear it with two different watches, a Breitling Premier Chronograph and a Longines Zulu Time. Both have 22 mm lug with and are 42 mm case diameter watches with complications, so both are >13mm thick. This strap fits and looks perfectly on both of them. It is almost perfect replica of the Breitling strap in size, looks and thickness. On the Longines I replace the bracelet and it looks amazing with it. Better than the strops Longines are selling on their web site. Overall I can’t praise enough that strap for its versatility, quality and feel. 100% recommended!
