Headquartered in Klagenfurt, Austria, Hirsch was established in 1765 as a leather workshop and tannery. It remains a family-owned business to this day, and continues to gain recognition for excellence and innovation in watch strap design.
One of Hirsch's perennial bestsellers, the Liberty is constructed from a single piece of particularly sturdy, vegetable-tanned saddle leather that is dyed fiber-deep in the barrel. Liberty is finished with three layers of lacquer hand-applied to the edges. Liberty is a cinch to clean: simply rinse under lukewarm running water, then dry with a cotton cloth.
All of our Hirsch straps are integrated with handy quick-release spring bars. Prefer standard spring bars? Quick-release bars are easy to remove: simply slide the lever as far as you can to the left, then gently bend back the strap corner until the bar emerges from the slot.

Vegetable-tanned saddle leather wears with a firmer, more substantial feel than slim or lightly finished leathers. The material has noticeable body on the wrist and holds its shape, giving the strap a grounded, tactile presence rather than a soft or flexible drape. Over time, it develops character while retaining its underlying structure.
The two-piece layout creates a stable, supportive wrap that keeps the watch centered and secure. Liberty is offered in more than one length to suit different wrist proportions and case sizes, but the intended wear remains consistent across options, with a planted feel at the case and a controlled fit once fastened.

Water exposure: Splash resistant, suitable for light moisture such as hand washing or rain.
Clean with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use cleaning products, including leather cleaners. For heavier soiling, the strap may be briefly rinsed under running water. Avoid soaking or prolonged exposure to water. Dry with a soft cotton cloth or allow to air dry at room temperature. If the strap becomes damp from perspiration or heat, gently wipe with a dry, soft cloth.
