Haveston Service AAF Parkerized Grey Nylon Watch Strap
Steel-grey nylon inspired by parkerized military finishes.
AAF, an original Haveston product design, incorporates both ground and air (Army and Air Force) design elements. Parkerized Grey takes its tone from the matte metal finishes used on WWII equipment and small arms, where a non-reflective surface reduced glare and wear visibility. Paired with the strap’s aviation details, including the tapered nylon body, engraved rivets, and roller buckle, this desaturated grey reads practical and equipment-focused. It fits naturally with tool watches, pilot pieces, and brushed or bead-blasted cases.
Material & feel
Constructed from woven nylon with a visible, slightly coarse texture and a matte finish. Reinforced hole settings are backed for durability, and the strap is fitted with engraved metal rivets. The bead-blasted stainless steel roller buckle allows smoother adjustment and reduces wear at the holes.

About the brand
Haveston is a British strap maker built around a clear point of reference: the kind of equipment issued to be used, not admired. Its designs draw from vintage military and industrial gear, where materials, construction, and layout were shaped by function first.
The brand takes cues from historical use across aviation, space exploration, and military service. That influence shows up in the details, from single-pass layouts to hook-and-loop closures and straightforward two-piece straps. The result is a range focused on durability, simplicity, and the same practical character found in the original equipment.

Another 5 star strap from Haveston. Very robust field/pilot strap that breaks in fast and is super comfortable on wrist. Durable sail cloth like fabric with a Nubuck suede like liner. Taper looks super vintage. Earth tone matches a lot of dial colors. Not a huge fan of the wobbly roller buckle but nothing to write home about—could easily be swapped out. I own lots of Haveston NATOs and canvas straps and this may be the best strap they have ever made. No brainer for your pilot of field watch, like my 70s pilot build shown.
The band pairs well with my Casioak and seems of high quality. However, it suffers from an issue I've run into multiple times now with other canvas style watch bands. The quick-release pins interfere with the band itself, not allowing them to fully expand into position. The opening at the end of the band simply cannot be made large enough without compromising strength and therefore when you try and attach it to the watch, it will not snap in and stay attached.
The fix is to destroy the quick-release pins and remove them and replace them with traditional pins. Which means there's no returning the band later should some other issue arise.
If not for this annoying issue the band would have 5 starts instead of 3.
Thanks for the detailed review. On thicker canvas straps like this, the quick-release spring bar sits in a tighter channel. Standard spring bars are an option if preferred. We appreciate this helpful context for others considering this style.
Haveston canvas strap is very supple and comfortable out of the box. Looks amazing as replacement on field/pilot style watches factory equipped with canvas straps.
Great quality, nice hardware, and a good pairing with many brushed or bead-blasted field watches, like this vintage-styled Ali Express chrono that's found favor in many online reviews lately. This lifts the watch quite a bit above its humble origins.
I have it on a field watch not a pilots watch and it looks badass.
Excellent quality strap that exceeds expectations, especially considering the cost.
The color is called sea grey, but it looks like something in between of green and blue which I have never seen before, so it's very special. The color is very pop and should be great for summer. The band doesn't need much time to break in and is relatively comfortable. The strap is pretty long though and I hope there is a shorter version for smaller wrists.
Overall happy with this strap. Didn’t take too long to break in and is comfortable to wear. My only gripe is that it is quite long and I have to use the 2nd to the last hole to secure it and that leaves excess material
