Alex, the founder of British strapmaker Haveston, is fueled by a passion for horology and history. Throughout Haveston's varied and growing portfolio, its designs are defined by a focus on the honest utilitarian character of vintage military industrial equipment used by service personnel for aviation, space exploration, combat and other purposes.
If Haveston's commitment to continuous refinement and innovation is any indication, we can expect much more from the company -- with one underlying idea. According to Alex: "At the end of the day, it always comes back to that service-driven purpose, regardless of whether that is to your community, family, or the world. Having a little reminder of that on your wrist is quite special."
Haveston's M-1944C canvas strap, in vintage muted olive green color with matching stitching, is based on shade ref. OD #7, found on U.S. military field equipment in 1944 service. It features a comfortable, low-profile A2 single pass strap configuration, and a floating keeper for easy and secure stowing of the period-appropriate chevron tail.

Want to love NATO straps but after a drawer full of them, I honestly hate them. They raise the watch too high off the wrist and the secondary strap is just overkill and also makes watches look bulky on the wrist. Got this Haveston single-pass strap in Bakelite for the vintage military look while still keeping the heritage military dive watch’s functionality on my Bulova Mil-Ships. Strap shipped ULTRA FAST, is great quality, simple with subtle genius design elements like the channel that the secondary keeper glides in - the strap molds around the keeper and keeps it in place. I soaked the strap, mounted it on the watch, and wore it until it dried. The keeper DOES NOT MOVE unless you want it to. Love the visual texture and rugged look that canvas gives. Very happy with this strap. This strap feels like it is a genuine historical watch band that wasn’t made as a fashion accessory. Nothing that isn’t needed but has everything that is needed for a fit that I never have to mess with. And I’m grateful that the price is reasonable, not a price-gouged assraping cost.
This is my second Haveston strap actually. My first one was a Forecastle I had on a Raketa perpetual calendar I ended up selling a couple years back. Fast forward to today, I bought a 1944-C to put on my Bulova Hack to give it that old school military watch feel, and I am absolutely over the moon! It looks and feels great and really adds a lot to the overall look. I did modify the strap in changing out the original stainless buckle for the PVD coated buckle that came with my watch, but it was a perfect fit as you can see. Overall a great strap and I will definitely buy more Haveston products in the future!
I really dig this Forecastle watch on my Tudor FXD MN. A true gray color, unlike a ZDiver, the thick material is of high quality and I expect it to patina well.
So glad I found this brand and Holben's did a great job shipping it out asap. Will be buying from them again, and a Haveston going forward.
