The cotton canvas is much more comfortable than any nylon strap. Top quality hardware, and I think it doesn't look too bad, either.
I got the M-1918C khaki strap for a Seiko SARB017 "Alpinist," and I love it! The strap has a rugged field watch appearance and feels comfortable on the wrist, while keeping a low profile as a single pass strap. It's easy to fit and size.
WARNING: It looks like Haveston changed the M-1918C design from the one pictured at the time of writing this review, with matching khaki stitching replacing the pictured olive green stitching, and a new logo on the hardware. I am fine with this, but mind the difference before buying if you're expecting green stitching.
What a great strap for the money! I'd pay $60 for it. It's very comfortable and built like a tank. Haveston is one of my favorite strap maker's out there. Just buy it!
Eh the stitching on the holes started coming undone after just a few hours of extremely gentle wear. Not sure how it’s going to hold up in the long run. The rest of the strap feels good and seems to be good quality.
Recently I purchased a Haveston Forecastle 18mm canvas strap to replace a tired leather strap on a Seiko 5 SNK807. Always felt that the leather didn't quite accomplish the field/military aesthetic I was going for. I'm pleased with the Halveston Forecastle, the grey canvas pairs up nicely with the matte stainless finish of the 807, and the blue stitching is a nice compliment to the slate blue dial. One note, Halveston does caution pulling or sliding the strap through the spring bars if they are tight for space to the watch case. I positioned the strap on the back of the case, then installed the spring bars to insure that I didn't fray or damage the canvas. The strap seems very well constructed, is very comfortable, and the sliding stainless keeper is a nice feature. Finally, I have purchased numerous straps from Holbens over the years and am always impressed with their prompt and secure shipping, they are great folks to do business with and their customer service is second to none! Thank you!
