Fluco Paris NovoNappa Leather Watch Strap - Whiskey
Haas NOVONAPPA calfskin, used for luxury handbags and equestrian gear.
Made from Haas calfskin, the Fluco Paris has a smooth surface that feels broken in from the start. The leather carries a soft, slightly waxed character from the tanning process, which gives it a mellow look and develops a natural patina over time. Handmade in Germany, Paris has a slim, unpadded build that suits smaller watches and dress pieces.
Material & feel
NOVONAPPA calfskin from the Haas Tanneries in France. Based in Alsace since 1842, Haas is now in its sixth generation of family ownership.
For decades, luxury goods manufacturers have used NOVONAPPA leather for equestrian accessories and handbags. It is famous for its patina, which develops over time and only improves with use. Production involves a double-tanning process with chrome salts and vegetable tannins. Oils are added in a hot-air drum, giving the leather a velvety feel with a lightly conditioned surface.
Edges are painted, sanded and polished several times by hand. Stitching is reinforced with double stitching at the ends and bartack stitching at the buckle. Lined with leather from France that is water-repellent and hypoallergenic.

I ordered this for my 1962 Universal Genevé bumper automatic with a rare light colored tropical dial. I've been on kind of a tear lately in terms of finding period correct buckles for certain of my special vintage watches. After some hunting, I found a 1962 Universal Genevé gold plated tang buckle for my watch and, if I was going to put this on the watch, it deserved a strap that was worthy. This Fluco strap is perfect and the buckle looks great on it. Both look great on the watch!
The Holbens photo of this Fluco NovoNappa leather strap clearly shows that the strap does not have quick release spring bars, which is what I wanted. The strap I got has quick release bars. Secondly, every Fluco strap I have ever purchased has been top quality workmanship and leather. This Fluco NovoNappa strap is not. The width is suppose to be 21mm. While the buckle side is 21mm, the tail side is 21.23mm and I had to squeeze it in to get it to fit. Also the stitching on the tail side is off center and is almost falling off the side. not sure how well that will age being that close to the edge. Thirdly, the spring bar was not secured in the buckle and when i put it on the first time, it fell off and hit the floor. Luckily the watch did not hit the floor. I had to work the strap to get the spring bar to extend through the strap and secure in to the buckle. I should not have to do that. Finally, the finish on the buckle itself is dull and not well polished. I would consider this a "B" strap. Its not typical of the quality I usually get with Fluco. I should return it, honestly.
Thank you for your feedback. You are correct that the product photos show a standard spring bar configuration, and we've since updated our product pages to clarify that the spring bars shown in photos may differ from the current configuration.
We're sorry this strap did not meet your expectations. If you'd like to return it, please contact us and we'll be happy to help.
I paired this strap with a Seiko Presage “Laurel Style”. The original was crocodile textured, but I think the smooth black leather with subtle detail of this Fluco band is a much better match for the clean Japanese style of this watch. The quality of the leather is noticeable. Thanks!
Excellent value strap for the money. Only downside is that i do wish there were more holes to fit smaller wrists. I was able to go down to the smallest hole for my 6" wrist but it's a bit loose.
Needed a new strap for a new-to-me Tank and this was just what I was looking for! Really quality materials and just lovely on the watch. 👍
Another great looking Fluco leather strap for my Brequet Type XX chronograph that has nonstandard 21mm lug width (please more choices for 21mm size!). It is slimer than my other Fluco leather straps, very soft and feels extremely comfortable on the wrist. Rich chocolate color, terrific elegant look. Long-term longevity of the strap remains to be seen. I wish the strap had quick release bars and contrasting stitching. 5 stars, thank you Holben’s and Fluco!
I've had this band in daily use for about 6 months now and it's wonderful.
I apply Skidmore's leather cream to the warmed band about once per month, and it soaks it right up. The cream eliminates the small wrinkles in the leather that form from folding at the hole I use. The leather has darkened pleasantly from the cream and from use. Minor scratches and stains buff out right away.
I have a narrow wrist (165 mm) and a watch with 44 mm between the spring bars and I wear this band on the second-smallest hole.
The edges of the band are sealed with an unobtrusive rubbery compound that protects the join between the thick upper leather and the thin soft leather that contacts the wrist.
Well worth the money. I expect this band will last a decade or more with good treatment.
This Fluco watch strap pairs beautifully with my dad's 1950's Super Roamer gold colored watch. The leather is beautifully soft, not stiff. Perfect!
This is my 3rd or 4th Fluco Haas NovoNappa strap purchase. The leather is luxurious and punches far above its price. Terrific value. Looks great and super comfortable. Ages well. Can't say enough good things about these straps!
I have bought several Fluco watch bands. This one might be the softest. From day one it feels like it’s not even there. I actually own two of these. The value is great also.
This strap is perfect for me. Simple, matte, thin, but well-constructed. I'm buying multiples for other watches.
Having already purchased the Haas whiskey NovoNappa leather strap, I decided to get the Haas brown NovoNappa leather strap. The quality of the leather and construction punch well above their weight class. Very happy with these straps. Will most likely purchase the black version in the future as well.
This is a well made watch band. The leather has a pleasant color and a soft, supple feel. The stitching seems sturdy. I expect this will hold up well to daily use.
These bands are quite nice. Medium weight: not so thin that they feel flimsy, but not thick and stiff.
Breathtaking leather strap at an affordable price. Well done, Fluco and Holben's!
Fluco has got to be one of the best value propositions in straps. Punch well above weight. I can't wait for this one to develop patina.
An impossibly beautiful strap at this price point. I cannot wait to see how it ages!
My wife liked the quality of this strap and ended up asking me to get another one for her to pair on her Apple Watch. The leather ages beautifully.
