Fluco's Chicago is a simple strap with unusually good leather. Horween shell cordovan has a smooth surface, dense feel, and depth of color that make the strap look more lustrous than standard calfskin. The Chicago suits dress watches, slim cases, and vintage-leaning designs, where it adds richness without adding bulk.

Material & feel

This strap is made from vegetable-tanned Horween shell cordovan, a dense equine leather known for its smooth surface, durability, and slow-developing character over time. Compared with softer calfskin, shell cordovan feels firmer and more compact, with a surface that stays relatively smooth as it bends and wears.

Fluco keeps the construction straightforward to let the leather stand on its own. The profile is flat, the edges are painted, sanded, and polished by hand, and the underside is lined in hypoallergenic leather. Authentic Horween lining may show natural tanning marks or part of the tannery stamp.

This is a perfect watch strap. It is robust, elegant, soft and flexible, and smells like very high quality leather. Looks and feels great on my '68 Chrono master.

Amazing quality and just like OEM. I needed it to be in a shorter length then the one it came with. Fluco makes the nomos strap so might as well order directly from them. Shipping was super quick and the watch steps quality is amazing. 10/10 experience overall and im in love with the new strap!

The Fluco Horween shell cordovan straps I recently bought from Holben’s in navy blue and whiskey are beautiful and I expect them to be as long-lasting as the other Fluco Horween shell cordovan straps that I have.

Very nice quality.

I bought this to replace the strap on my Zenith Elite. The fixed keeper had come loose. However, I ended up putting it on my Nomos Tangente which comes with a Horween Shell Cordovan strap. Holben's strap is the same quality. The Nomos strap is a bit too long for me - had to wear it a little loose. Also replaced the Nomos buckle with an old Breitling one which I like. Everything works well. So I ordered a second strap for my Zenith. I will put the Zenith branded buckle on it. It has a black gator strap but the Holben's strap will compliment it nicely. I'm quite satisfied and I recommend the strap. It has a glossy finish just like the original Nomos strap. My wrist is 7.25" and the short size fits perfectly.

Luxury Strap At An Affordable Price

Purchased the Black 18mm Short length. I’ve almost always been impressed by the Fluco bands I’ve bought, and this one definitely pleases. My first Shell Cordovan item and it’s a nice, relatively inexpensive way to get a taste of one of the world’s finest leathers. Hard to find a strap more classy, elegant and sleek than this one. It is more supple and less rigid right away than I was expecting, and less glossy than I thought it might be - both positive qualities in my case. Thank you Fluco for the well-priced short-length straps and Holben’s for the great service and purchasing experience!

Finally Horween Shell Cordovan on my wrist!

My watch strap recently broke at the buckle so I set out for something special. My new Fluco in Horween Shell Cordovan is indeed special. My original strap was 'regular' length and after much measuring and calculations, I ordered 'short'. Dead on! My new strap fits perfectly in its center hole while the older one was near its shortest hole. In a little while I'll have me a patina from this little piece of Horse Rump. More than pleased with quality!

Beautiful Natural Shine

This leather once broken in is supple and easily conforms to your wrist. The only gripe I’ve had was that one of the straps had a slight off angle on the lug which I needed to address by pushing into the leather. I did need to roll the leather near the watch head as it was contacting the metal, however that was due to the watch having short lugs. It can be easily paired with a button down or casual with jeans.

Worth the price

The quality of this cordovan watch band is outstanding. It’s nothing like cheaper ones you find around. The bold buckle/fastener is a nice rich gold color, not a light, shiny brass. It very much resembles the original strap that came with the watch back in 1990. I’m glad I went with the flat because it modernizes it just a bit and looks very classy. Also, the flat band is elegant like dress watch bands in the 1980s.

Very nice strap.

I got this strap to pair with my Longines Conquest with a green dial. I really like how the strap looks and the quality is very nice. It is hard to find a 19mm quality leather strap and shell cordovan is my favorite leather so this was a win win. I highly recommend it.

Excellent quality

It was time to change the strap on my 1973 Omega Geneve and I wanted black shell cordovan. I was looking for something similar to what Nomos uses with their Club Campus.

The quality, softness, fit, and durability of this strap are very impressive. It has injected new life into a 50 year old watch. Highly recommended.

Comfortable and elegant strap

The strap color goes well with Seiko SPB435 (Bamboo Grove Alpinist). I am glad this strap is 19mm and has quick release spring bars. The leather is comfortable and feels premium. The whiskey color is a light brown and matches gold/yellow tones of a watch. It makes my watch look elegant and I really like it.

Excellent work from Fluco, as usual.

Fantastic strap. You can't get shell cordovan this nice anywhere for a better price. Stitching is excellent and quality is excellent. Throw your factory buckle on there and you have a heck of a nice package.

Very satisfied.

Really enjoying my new Fluco Chicago Horween Shell Cordovan Brown Flat Leather Watch Strap. It feels very comfortable and pliable, without feeling cheap. I like that it is just starting to get small scuffs and "patina". In my opinion this strap is very simple looking, and not eye catching, which is what I wanted, yet is of good quality. Sort of under the radar nd understated. If you want that confidence in quality this a a good strap for you. It pairs well with my BALL Engineer M Pioneer 2. This is my second watch strap purchase and I will be returning for more in the future. Very satisfied!

Fluco flat straps

The flat Fluco straps are great. They are thick enough to be strong, but thin enough (and the leather is of high quality) that they are flexible. My wrist has become thin, and aome padded straps are too stiff to be comfortable. The Fluco Horween leather is beautiful leather, and the strap is well made and fits very comfortably.

I needed a short strap in a cognac-like color for my wedding. I bought this and a Molequin Nubuck watch strap for double the price for my wedding hoping one would match the cognac shoes/belt nicely. While the Molequin Nubuck was more comfortable and had better edge finishing, this is an extremely nice and comfortable strap for the price and I had no reservations at all about making it my pick for the wedding. The color match to cognac was very close, and the buckle sits nicely. My only wish is that there was an option with color matched/more subdued stitching as I was using this on a dress watch (Oris Artelier S) but it’s not a big deal. I’ll probably be back for a black one at some point.

Very sharp looking , very durable strap. Hard to beat.

If you aren’t familiar with cordovan, you might think it’s plastic at first glance. It’s that smooth and uniform. The brown looks fantastic with yellow gold. It’s hard to show how sharp and clean looking it is. It’s also lined. Custom Horween Cordovan straps cost twice as much!! The Fluco butterfly clasp (you have to buy it separately) is a nice upgrade . Cordovan doesn’t need much care, but if need be pick up a bottle of Venetian Shoe Cream (elsewhere) to restore the shine.
