Located in Germany's Bavarian Forest, Fluco manufactures 100% in-house at its headquarters in the town of Furth im Wald. Owner Ulrich Fleischmann represents the third generation of his family to lead the company that his grandfather founded more than 70 years ago, producing handmade watch straps of the highest quality for men and women.
Fluco carefully vets every partner they collaborate with. They work only with tanneries that produce ecologically and ethically responsible leather, complying with the strictest regulations to ensure environmental safety and exercising verifiable control from the origin of the raw material to the end product. Fluco's buckles are made entirely in Germany, at a traditional company in Baden Württemberg that tasks itself with producing premium clasps for watch straps.
A true classic, the Chiara strap is handmade in Germany from high quality calfskin leather that is embossed with a realistic crocodile-grain pattern. Here's a SoCal Watch Reviews video demonstrating the Fluco Chiara strap on a vintage Girard-Perregaux dress watch:
I purchased this strap for a vintage Elgin of mine because I was having a hard time finding 16mm straps. It looked great on the website and but it's even better in person. Thank you Holbens.
Best quality leather strap for the money. Description is accurate as leather does appear to be calfskin and is embossed with crocodile grain pattern. Sarb033 Approved.
I have to be honest about this one, the color is really tough on my eyes. It's more electric blue that what it it shows on the web page or the video it's featured in. Not super different, but page shows just enough gray in the color to tone down the rather "serious" blue. No go, it's all neon, baby. And it looks like a candy coating rather than a dye. I probably would have exchanged it for something else less aggressive, but I wasn't sure I disliked it as much as I do, so I installed it. I had to bend the spring bars due to the case I was working with having a curve in a bad place, so it really wasn't returnable. I'll try to live with it.
