I bought this Fluco deployant clasp to pair with a brown Fluco Dublin strap that I purchased on the same order. This combination whas purchased for a Tisell Flieger type A watch that has been on a black Blushark Original NATO strap for the past few years. I wanted something more fitting for a Flieger, with simpler stitching, and this combo fit the bill perfectly
I own and wear this exact deployant clasp on six other watches, either polished or brushed, whichever pairs best for each case. They're comfortable, consistently secure once latched, and they look great! When I order a new leather strap I always order one of these clasps to go with.
Holben's customer service has been exceptional over the past decade or so, since I began buying from them. I cannot reccomend the Fluco Butterfly Deployant clasp enough. Same goes for Holben's.
The delivery time was prompt and the items were well packaged. The clasp is nicely finished and functions smoothly. The clasp is on a Delugs Cognac Shell Cordovan Strap, interchangeable for a Longines Master Moonphase and Longines Hydroconquest Black Bezel. I am considering replacing more of my ardillon buckles with this clasp.
Excellent craftsmanship. Set up as a deployment clasp for my Silver Snoopy (16mm buckle width) and it fits perfectly. Looking forward to keeping the strap at its best for the many years to come
My first butterfly clasp for my first watch so I have nothing to compare this to** I replaced the pin buckle with this clasp on my watch with the hopes of improving the fit of my watch on my wrist, making it easier to take on and off, reducing strain on the strap, and adding an extra swag factor to my Ball Engineer II Red Label.
-Fit: I have pretty small wrists probably a shade under 6.5 inches and I like to wear my watch quite snug so it doesn’t slide down my arm. I find that the metal has a way of sticking to my skin and has significantly helped with this issue that I had with the original pin buckle system. In general it seems to be getting more and more comfortable as I wear it more, when I first put it on it seemed like it would be irritating to my skin but I think thats because I was messing with it so much.
-It has definitely made it significantly easier and faster to take it on and off and no doubt is reducing strain on the leather and avoids any chance of creating a crease in my leather band.
-Swag: This is definitely achieved. Im the only watch guy among my friends and everyone was very interested to see how the butterfly clasp works (more so than seeing the actual watch itself lol). I also just think it looks cooler when I take it off and set the watch on its side as opposed to flat on a table with the pin buckle. Also the polished metal keeper elevates the look of my watch in my opinion and makes it look more premium when on the wrist.
It does tend to start irritating my wrist a bit after ~ 10hrs of wearing but fashion is pain and I find that popping it off like a pair of socks at the end of the day even just for a few minutes resolves this and I can put it back on and its fine.

It’s very secure, requiring two buttons to be pressed to open.
It only says “stainless steel” - no Fluco banding, no “Made in Germany”
The gold plate is very good and matches 18k gold well. See photo comparing it Rolex gold.
That said butterfly clasps takes some getting use to. And it is a lot thicker under the wrist than a regular buckle. You’ll either like it, or not. If you like it, it’s hard to beat this clasp.

I bought this clasp to pair with my new Raven, Airfield. I coupled the clasp with a black Hirsch Retro Ranger strap. I took a chance ordering as Flaco suggest that this clasp fits straps up to 3.5 mm thick. The Hirsch strap I chose is 3.8 mm thick. Regardless, the the fit was perfect. Also, the build quality on this German manufactured clasp is excellent and the aesthetics match my new watch and strap perfectly. Now about Holben’s: what an excellent company. Knowledgeable and customer oriented. I am very satisfied with the service I’ve received and will be a return customer. Mike has graciously answered any questions I’ve had and has gone above and beyond concerning my most recent purchase. I am very satisfied.
I upgraded my strap on my Omega Snoopy and boy, does it make a difference. Much better than the pin buckle! It saves wear on the OEM strap and gets compliments. Much better than the cheap ones on Amazon.
The Omega Snoopy comes with a pin buckle, not worthy of the watch. I searched around for a high quality deployant clasp and found Fluco. It is so much better than the ones on Amazon. It saves the OEM strap for unnecessary wear. Very pleased.
Love this thing. If it came in more varieties such as brushed steel or a brush and polish combo, I would definitely order more.
My first deployant clasp for a strap. It’s really well built. Solid snaps where it needs to be. Fits my Hirsch Aryton brilliantly. Big thanks to Mike for testing it with my strap before I purchased. I am tempted to try to make a new hole cos I tend to sit between two sizes. But it is still breaking in and we’ll see if I do. Either way…quite satisfied. Also…extremely fast shipping!
I buy these with every leather strap I purchase because they add longevity to the leather that a tang buckle takes away over time through daily wear. This fluco butterfly deployant has decent construction and looks nice as well. Bottom line, it does its job well.

Tell me that doesn’t look good
Two stars may be a bit harsh, but this is really more of a faff to use than anything. The problem is that the portion where you select a hole on the tongue does not "click in." As a result, I have to re -thread the tongue and select a hole every single time I want to wear the watch, which completely defeats the normally easy of use of the deployant clasp (there are others here who reported the same). The frustrating thing is I am also using a Fluco watch band (which is great) so you would think it would work. It looks great and once seated and on the wrist, it is great. However, so would the basic watch band. As this was completely unneeded for the functionality of the watch band and does not do what it is meant to do, I will likely remove it from my watch. Btw, I have several watches with the manufacturer's deployant which work great; its just that this watch is a basic seiko so it came with a basic band, and I tried to upgrade with this deployant...which didnt work
Thanks for the detailed feedback. The clasp itself should close with a positive click, and the hole position should hold once set. What you’re describing isn’t typical, though it can be affected by strap thickness or how the holes engage with the pin. We appreciate you sharing your experience.
I don't really have the criteria to really evaluate this product because it is the first clasp of this type I've experienced, but I have to say it feels great; it is very solid and secure. It feels serious put together in the DeBeer sports leather strap....it works AWESOME for me!!
This seems to be a fairly high quality clasp. The mechanism isn't as smooth as others that I've used, which is why I've deducted one star. Other than that, the workmanship seems good. The steel is polished to a very high shine. The reason I chose this clasp is that it advertises a 4mm thickness, and it delivers. I am able to use it with my 4mm-thick 18-mm Hirsch Liberty Strap. It was a tight fit (I actually used a pair of pliers to pull the buckle end through the clasp), but it appears sturdy and is comfortable.
The Fluco Butterfly clasp is an amazing deal. Not only is it made in Germany, but it is so well made for under $40. It fit perfect with the Fluco leather strap I put on my cheaper SEIKO and it makes the watch look way more expensive than it was. The butterfly clasp is the best way to prevent the leather from getting damaged. I plan to buy the next size up for a larger watch.
I purchased the Fluco deployant clasp for my new Massena Lab Uni-Racer chronograph watch. I've purchased this clasp from Holben's several times in the past and as in the past the clasp quality is great and Holben's ships the order fast. Can't really ask much more than that. I would definitely order this clasp from Holben's again.
