The Saffiano strap from Molequin takes its cues from traditional leatherwork, where texture is used to add structure rather than decoration. The fine crosshatch pattern gives it a precise, tailored look that stays controlled and matte.

Saffiano leather is a full-grain calfskin defined by its distinctive crosshatch surface. The texture is created by hot-pressing the leather, which seals the surface and gives it a crisp profile and clean edges rather than a soft or pliable drape. With wear, the leather gradually becomes more comfortable while retaining its shape and color.
Saffiano leather was originally developed in 1913 by Italian luxury leather designer Mario Prada and is known for its elegant texture and structured appearance. Since the expiration of the original patent, the material has been adopted widely in high-end leather goods and accessories.

Saffiano leather wears with a firm, defined feel that holds its shape while gradually becoming more comfortable over time. It stays stable on the wrist rather than collapsing or draping, keeping the watch positioned cleanly.
Molequin straps run shorter than many standard leather straps, with both the regular and short options cut more compactly than average. This results in a cleaner wrap with less excess tail once fastened, particularly on smaller wrists or watches with shorter lug-to-lug proportions. The fit remains intentional and balanced, favoring proportion and neatness over added length or overlap.
Length & wrist size:
If your wrist sits near the overlap between sizes, either length can work. A shorter strap reduces tail and positions the buckle more tightly, while a longer strap provides more room and tail.
Measurements exclude the buckle.
Water exposure: Splash resistant, suitable for light moisture such as hand washing or rain.
Clean gently with a soft, slightly damp cloth. Do not use leather cleaners, conditioners, or creams. Avoid prolonged contact with water, perspiration, and direct sunlight. If the strap becomes damp, dry it with a soft cloth and allow it to air dry completely at room temperature.
