Alex, the founder of British strapmaker Haveston, is fueled by a passion for horology and history. Throughout Haveston's varied and growing portfolio, its designs are defined by a focus on the honest utilitarian character of vintage military industrial equipment used by service personnel for aviation, space exploration, combat and other purposes.
If Haveston's commitment to continuous refinement and innovation is any indication, we can expect much more from the company -- with one underlying idea. According to Alex: "At the end of the day, it always comes back to that service-driven purpose, regardless of whether that is to your community, family, or the world. Having a little reminder of that on your wrist is quite special."
Haveston's General Services collection features utilitarian ballistic nylon straps with a technical look, including unique subdued designation markings. Designed for everyday duties, they're perfect for a “beater” role or a simple match-and-go setup. Sold in sets of two: Set A includes one black and one Admiralty-based grey strap; Set B includes one olive drab and one khaki strap (both classic field tones).
The A2 single-pass layout offers a streamlined wearing profile and reduced "off-wrist" height and protection in the event of spring bar failure. It has a reinforced look and construction (including pad-reinforced hole settings for extra durability) and is fitted with Haveston's signature floating fabric secondary keeper for easy tail stowage and retention.
Material:
- 1.3mm traditional ballistic nylon
- Captive (sewn in; no spring bar) bead-blasted Zulu steel buckle
Sizing:
- Available in 18mm, 20mm and 22mm
- 270mm (10-5/8") long, excluding buckle
- Fits wrists 145mm - 225mm (6" - 8-1/2")
Notes:
- For watches with limited spring bar-to-case clearance, install bars over the strap, and consider using curved bars
- Avoid forcing the strap through; this may deteriorate the strap, bars and case
- Designation markings may fade with use or repeated abrasion during installation, especially if the bar-to-case clearance is tight
- If fraying occurs (common with general nylon woven webbing), carefully remove any excess using a sharp pair of scissors, and reseal or cauterize with a heat source
- Hand wash and air dry to clean. Machine washing is possible, but may expedite wear
Includes:
- One free pair of strong, seamless double-flange stainless steel spring bars
