Located in Germany's Bavarian Forest, Fluco manufactures 100% in-house at its headquarters in the town of Furth im Wald. Owner Ulrich Fleischmann represents the third generation of his family to lead the company that his grandfather founded more than 70 years ago, producing handmade watch straps of the highest quality for men and women.

Fluco carefully vets every partner they collaborate with. They work only with tanneries that produce ecologically and ethically responsible leather, complying with the strictest regulations to ensure environmental safety and exercising verifiable control from the origin of the raw material to the end product. Fluco's buckles are made entirely in Germany, at a traditional company in Baden Württemberg that tasks itself with producing premium clasps for watch straps.

Fluco's Paris strap is handmade in Germany using smooth, buttery NOVONAPPA calfskin leather from the Haas Tanneries in France. Haas has been based in Alsace since 1842, and is now in its sixth generation of family ownership. A Haas trademark is its famous NOVONAPPA leather, produced through a double-tanning process using chrome salts and vegetable tannins. Oils are then added in a hot-air drum, giving this fine leather a soft feel and mellow appearance.

For decades, many luxury goods manufacturers have used NOVONAPPA leather for equestrian accessories and handbags. It is famous for its patina, which develops over time and only improves with use, and the Paris strap is no exception. This strap is durable, water resistant and oil absorbent. The white contrasting bar tack stitches at buckle are double sewn, as are the last stitches on the seams. The French leather lining is water repellent and hypoallergenic.

6 mo review: Great looking, high quality

I've had this band in daily use for about 6 months now and it's wonderful.

I apply Skidmore's leather cream to the warmed band about once per month, and it soaks it right up. The cream eliminates the small wrinkles in the leather that form from folding at the hole I use. The leather has darkened pleasantly from the cream and from use. Minor scratches and stains buff out right away.

I have a narrow wrist (165 mm) and a watch with 44 mm between the spring bars and I wear this band on the second-smallest hole.

The edges of the band are sealed with an unobtrusive rubbery compound that protects the join between the thick upper leather and the thin soft leather that contacts the wrist.

Well worth the money. I expect this band will last a decade or more with good treatment.

These bands are quite nice. Medium weight: not so thin that they feel flimsy, but not thick and stiff.

Simply beautiful leather strap

Fluco has got to be one of the best value propositions in straps. Punch well above weight. I can't wait for this one to develop patina.

The best of two worlds: French leather and German craftsmanship

An impossibly beautiful strap at this price point. I cannot wait to see how it ages!

Liked it so much that I bought it twice

My wife liked the quality of this strap and ended up asking me to get another one for her to pair on her Apple Watch. The leather ages beautifully.
