I am very happy with the Hirsch James performance leather band. It is made of high quality leather. The reason I call it a specialty band is the rubber inner layer that resists and channels sweat from the outer leather. My experience with ordinary leather bands is that over time, the leather wears from moisture making the leather rough and aged. I generally had to replace the bands because of this about every 2 years. I have been wearing this band while playing tennis and it does not seem to be affected by moisture/sweat like my other bands. I have had it for 3 months and it looks great! Time will tell how durable and sweat resistant it is. I think it will outlast my other bands that I have had. It cost about 2 times the other ones. Is it worth it? I think so. If you have the money and you want a leather band that will resist moisture from sweat, then I highly recommend you check this band out. My Hirsch James strap is very well-made and fits my 6 1/2 inch wrist perfectly. I bought the shorter version (110/70), and I appreciate having that option. The Golden Brown version is beautiful, and I love the water-resistant leather and the rubber backing. It is a premium product, but this strap will last a long time and will look great on almost any watch I have. I also have the black version, and it has the same top notch qualities.
