The James Performance strap features a smooth vegetable-tanned Italian calfskin leather upper, treated with a special scratch-resistant finish to protect against abrasion. The premium, thick caoutchouc natural rubber lining is hypoallergenic and resistant to external influences such as UV light and chemicals, and its superior groove structure ensures constant ventilation on the wrist. James is water resistant to 300m, so it can be worn for swimming and even diving.
All of our Hirsch straps are integrated with handy quick-release spring bars. Prefer standard spring bars? Quick-release bars are easy to remove: simply slide the lever as far as you can to the left, then gently bend back the strap corner until the bar emerges from the slot.

Strap Sense review of the Hirsch James:
I am very happy with the Hirsch James performance leather band. It is made of high quality leather. The reason I call it a specialty band is the rubber inner layer that resists and channels sweat from the outer leather. My experience with ordinary leather bands is that over time, the leather wears from moisture making the leather rough and aged. I generally had to replace the bands because of this about every 2 years. I have been wearing this band while playing tennis and it does not seem to be affected by moisture/sweat like my other bands. I have had it for 3 months and it looks great! Time will tell how durable and sweat resistant it is. I think it will outlast my other bands that I have had. It cost about 2 times the other ones. Is it worth it? I think so. If you have the money and you want a leather band that will resist moisture from sweat, then I highly recommend you check this band out. These Hirsch performance straps are incredible quality. They are not cheap straps, but the quality truly makes it worth the money. I've gone swimming with these multiple times and they hold up perfectly. With the rubber backing the strap also does not wear out like a normal leather strap would with taking it on and off on a daily basis. I would recommend these straps 100%.
My Hirsch James strap is very well-made and fits my 6 1/2 inch wrist perfectly. I bought the shorter version (110/70), and I appreciate having that option. The Golden Brown version is beautiful, and I love the water-resistant leather and the rubber backing. It is a premium product, but this strap will last a long time and will look great on almost any watch I have. I also have the black version, and it has the same top notch qualities.
