I have had my Seiko Presage SRPD97J1 paired with a black Toronto Hirsch 20mm Short strap for dressy occasions and have wanted to add a dark brown strap option. Jumped on this DeBeer during a sale. Having had the short Hirsch, I decided to try the DeBeer short model. What a difference a few millimeters can make -- as well as location of holes - see Hirsch and DeBeer side-by-side photo for reference. 4-stars due to the QC issue: the stitch length inconsistency on the long piece, right hand side (see close up pic). Returning to exchange with a regular length. Wishing DeBeer offered quick-release spring bars for no-hassle strap swaps, but not a deal-breaker.
You don't want your watch strap upstaging your horological treasures. Here's a beautifully made masterpiece of subtlety, just like the 1958 Longines it now compliments.
I like this way better than Hadley Roma, the quality is a very large step up. Hadley Roma’s keeper (the one secured to the strap, not the other free sliding one) gave up in a couple months. The bucks was less refined and felt like it was slowly sanding away at the top surface of the leather. The underpart was not soft, didn’t breathe, and the overall feel was more similar to a plasticky cheap stiff feel. This strap is nothing of the sort, very soft and supple, highly refined, lovely buckle. Superior in every single way, I am very pleased with this strap.
Outstanding value for the price! Good quality!
Turned my $200 Merkur Chronograph into a $1,500 Hamilton Intra-Matic! Thank you!
