I removed the unnecessary and bulky piece of leather that secures the second keeper. I felt it increased the profile of the strap too much relative to the rest of the band. Now it's just a simple single pass NATO style without the extra layers that were only used to secure just one of the keepers. Now the keeper floats more than the 3/4 inch or so it did before but with leather the keepers tend to stay in place fairly well due to friction. So I really think this attempt by Colareb to secure the keeper was just not needed. The strap quality is excellent and conforms perfectly to my 7.25" wrist. The length is perfect with no need to do that bulky tuck so often required on NATO straps. This one is about 10 inches and it's perfect. The 11 and 12 inch NATO are just too long for my taste. I also switched out the buckle to one that is a bit longer by a few mm but less thick. The one it came with had a very sharp edge and it dug into my wrist. I used a premium buckle from Cincinnati Strap Company and it is much more comfortable. Is it worth $70? No. It should be more in the $50 range. This strap is thin and of course only one piece. Relative to other Colareb straps this one is much less substantial and structured. The more I think about it should be more like $40.
I have been a huge fan of ColaReb straps for years now. When I purchased a new Seiko Samurai I needed to take it to a new level so this ColaReb strip strap was the logical choice. The Samurai is a large, thick watch and I did not want a leather nato strap that had two layers underneath and a big blob of leather to fold over. This ColaReb Strip Strap is nothing short of awesomeness. It looks rough and rugged and with only the one layer of leather the watch lays nice and snug to my wrist. Easy to take on and off it is in total keeping with the "strap monster" status of this Samurai. Love it, love it, love it!! I tried to include photography that shows all sides of this gorgeous piece of hand-crafted leather from Italy. If you are considering this strap I highly recommend it.
Purchased this watch band to compliment my new Steinhart Ocean 2. The band has a great feel and is light enough that one doesnt realize its on the wrist. The only downfall as the day wears on, one needs to loosen the band because the large buckle does indent the underside of the wrist. if you prefer your watch to be worn loosely then this wont be a problem. overall satisfied.
